{"id":840,"date":"2017-11-09T09:50:49","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T15:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thedarktimes.us\/wordpress\/?p=840"},"modified":"2017-11-09T09:51:18","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T15:51:18","slug":"ould-not-construct-return-packet-in-nrpe-handler-check-client-side-nsclient-log-logs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thedarktimes.us\/wordpress\/uncategorized\/ould-not-construct-return-packet-in-nrpe-handler-check-client-side-nsclient-log-logs\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Could not construct return packet in NRPE handler check client side (nsclient.log) logs\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When i try to run <span id=\"IL_AD5\" class=\"IL_AD\">check<\/span> _nrpe command from Nagios to perform a memory check the physical memory of the Windows Server 2012, i get the following error message:-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.techkaki.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/NRPE-error.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3223\" src=\"http:\/\/www.techkaki.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/NRPE-error.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.techkaki.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/NRPE-error.png 798w, http:\/\/www.techkaki.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/NRPE-error-300x15.png 300w\" alt=\"NRPE error\" width=\"557\" height=\"27\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the above error message it show that Nagios Server unable to get the results from the NSClient services. It is because NRPE module is not enable in the NSClient services. By default, NRPE module is not enable.<\/p>\n<p>To enable the NRPE module, below are <span id=\"IL_AD6\" class=\"IL_AD\">the steps<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p>1. navigate to the NSClient++ directory which should be in your C:\\Program Files directory.<\/p>\n<p>2. There is a file named NSC.ini in there. This is the main <span id=\"IL_AD7\" class=\"IL_AD\">configuration<\/span> file for NSClient. Open this in your favorite text <span id=\"IL_AD4\" class=\"IL_AD\">editor<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>3. Now in the [NRPE] section we need to enable the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>port 5666<\/p>\n<p>allow_arguments=1<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4. Once done, save the NSC.ini files and restart\u00a0NSClient++ services<\/p>\n<p>5.
