Star Wars Celebration V: Thursday

I got up early and got ready, first shuttle ride at 7:00 a.m. So I get the lobby exactly at 7, check the lobby schedule, oops the first shuttle is at 7:30. So I go to McDonald’s across the street and get some breakfast. I go where I think the shuttle will pick be picked up at. Some of the other Star Wars fans are there. Lucky, for us another fan girl came and told us the right location to go for pickup. Shortly the bus comes and took us to the convention center. Lucky for us we allowed to line up inside, a major plus for the convention. Hyperspace and VIP had a special place to line up, another major bonus point for the convention. At first I got into the wrong line, the VIP line, but then I got into the right line. I was still in the first roll of the hyperspace line but at the very end of it. I meet a nice family from Maryland whose little boy had a very cool cold weather Capt Rex. Also in line were two twenty something girls who were in a caravan that traveled from New York straight to get there. One was a die hard fan and the other was simple tagging along for the ride, more interest in going to Harry Potter at Universal Studios which was big talk among the line. At 9:30 the VIP line was allowed in, at 9:45 the VIP line was allowed in, and at 9:50 we were moving. The line stop outside the main floor entrance. At 10:00 we were allowed in and at 10:01 I was in the main floor. The first thing that I noticed was the extremely long Gentle Giant Line which was already formed. I decided to go to the Celebration Store and get that out of the way. On my way, I saw that the Hasbro toy shop did not have any line, I looked around for the line which sometimes can be hidden. I didn’t see any so I jumbed in line and got my exclusive comic pack & vintage pack. Unfortinately for me I didn’t know about the vintage cases and missed out getting wave 2 & 3 and boba fett figures. Back on my way to the CV store, I see the the Rebelscum and Forcecast booths, I stop by and get a blank Rebelsucm badge, and thank Jimmy & Jason on the forcecast. Wow Jason is really short. Time to get back on track to the store, I pass by the Official Pix both, better stop and get my $10 Lt. Renz mini bust. The CV store is now in my sights, wow they have a serious line queue. I go to the opening of the store and no wait. I start grabbing things that I want. I see people complaining that the Yoda & Boba Fett pins are already sold out, I fine them on another table and scoop them up too. I pass on some stuff thinking that their were be another 1/2 sale on Sunday. I get all that I can carry and go to check out, I free that I missing something, I never did find the CV official pin (which I had to get online for a premium.) Hyperspace paid premiums again because it had its own check line which I was able to right up to and check out. I then went to the Fedex station and shipped all my treasures home. I then went to the Bottled Water and Plan panel which I still was able to ketch 1/2 of the show. I then went to the Dark Horse comics panel, allot of new lines that look really great. I then went and got in line for the Celebrating Celebration (aka Opening Ceremonies). It was good but it didn’t feel like a real opening ceremonies. I then went to the Star Wars Collecting Podcast, I enjoyed SWAN on the panel. I got a Wookie Cereal box. I was surprized that it was a little box, I had pictured a full cereal box. I then went to get the Official postmark of the convention, which I expected no lines at all. I was going to make a cool letter with a Yoda stamp, but never got around to it. Lucky for me they were selling postcards for $6.00 which was $4.00 cheaper than the store. The line was extreme long and moving a snail pace. At 6pm the announced you good just drop off what you wanted stamped. I meet a cool guy georgiajedi@georgiajedi.com who sold me two stamps keeping me from having to buy a entire roll. I went back to the CV store to pick up my pre-orders, at this time the store and the main floor are very deserted. After about 10 minutes I get my pre-orders, oops I now have two Official Guides, bought one earlier. Now I am back off to the Wydham and the Forcecast party. I find the party okay and get a cool imperial pin. It is very crowed and I can’t believe they expect to get 500 people in this small room. I looks like it will hold about a 100. I spotted the open bars finger food, and inhaled all the chicken strips, mini-sandwitches, swedish meatballs. I had a Celebration drink which was very good and strong and went down way to fast. I had a beer. It was very crowded, so I went back to my room. I tried to relax and go to bed early for another fun day.
