My Documents Redirection to a Netware Home Directory

There seems to be a bug if you redirected the “My Documents” to the Drive Letter of the Netware Home Directory.

Bug 1:    In Windows Explorer,  the home directory does not display correctly, example:  abn now shows up as “Documents” or “My Documents”

Bug 2:    Windows 7 thinks it’s the owner of the directory and can give random “Access Denied: You do not have permissions to perform this action”

Bug 3:    Deleting files causes errors, but the file does delete.

Bug 4:     Windows 7, does NOT correctly show the my documents folder location.

Work Around:

Step One:   Create a “My Documents” directory within your home directory.

Step Two:   Under Libraries, Documents, My Documents – Select Properties

Find the Location Tab, select Move and go to Drive letter\My Documents that you created in step 1

Step Three:        Test by creating files in My Documents, and then checking the Network Drive to see if the file is there.
